It has been beneficial for me to add a grounding element in our space to help me focus and stay on task, especially since I work mostly from my home office. I have a tendency to “be in my head” a lot. In other words, thinking, thinking, thinking and then thinking some more. Sometimes all this thinking, gives me a headache…literally. Since I know this about myself, I’ve developed behaviors to assist me with being more in my “body” instead of my “head.” Exercise, good eating and sleeping habits, creative expression, etc. have all helped. What has also helped is adding earth elements in our space. The element of earth embodies stability, grounding and solidity. It assists me in finishing what I start and stay emotionally balanced.
If any of this resonates with you, then I encourage you to add the element of earth to your space. You can easily do this with color (yellow, earth tones), adding heavy-solid objects, the shapes of rectangles & squares, and materials literally made from the earth, like tiles, ceramics, bricks. You can add the earth element with images of deserts, sand, soil and planet earth. Try meditating by connecting to earth energy.
